Postnatal Consultation
Helping mothers take care of themselves and their newborns.
Now that you have given birth, you may like some support for the next stage in your journey. Suckle and Snooze can offer this support by providing non-judgemental, evidence-based care for you and your baby.
What is a postnatal consultation with Suckle and Snooze?
A postnatal consultation with Suckle and Snooze provides lactation and parenting support to mothers who have recently given birth or are struggling with breastfeeding.
What do we do?
On the first visit, a detailed history of factors that influence breastfeeding outcomes is collected. This is accompanied by a physical assessment of both mother and baby. We will also discuss strategies and demonstrate any equipment that may be needed to help with feeding. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive, personalised feeding plan.
General parenting advice
Becoming a new parent provides many moments of uncertainty, and things can become more difficult with the many different views of family and friends. Searching online also provides a myriad of often conflicting information. As an experienced child and family health nurse, I can guide you through this by providing evidence-based information to help you find the best solution for you and your family.
How much is a postnatal consultation?
A single consultation costs $250. This is suitable for mums who have successfully breastfed in the past but are having some difficulties with their new baby.
A 2 visit package costs $350. This enables careful observation of your baby, examination of baby’s mouth to determine if any oral restrictions are present, detailed history taking, a comprehensive feeding plan and a follow up visit to assess outcomes and adjust plan if necessary.
All consultations include ongoing text, phone or email support.
